President of the SU. The whole profile doesn't make much sense though, they say University isn't a place to preach politics, whilst at the same time preaching about their political stance.

The point about being President is to add to your CV and getting paid to spend another year at uni.
Idk what everyone else's was like but to get elected at mine you needed to be able to be an excellent organiser, come up with a catchy hook, and convince a key cohort* to not just vote for you but to actively back you and get people in to vote.
All of which to me sounds a lot more impressive and useful to the working world that being captain of a sports team and making fixture rotas.
*mainly the Rugby and football teams, and popular girls.
