I found Durham to be a whole other level to Newcastle on their dismissiveness of it, pretty much actively against it's existence. Was actually quite jaring how much people were into the college allegiance thing from my experience of it. In my year there I only went to the SU once I think and that was for a CAMRA beer festival.
