That English strongly reminds me of those beautiful French Concours de Machines.
Like Victoire and Pech Tregon.https://pechtregon.tumblr.com/
(can't upload atm unfortunatelly)

The fork you posted is welded.
The English has the load on a single bolt, perpendicular to the bolt.
Not much metal holding that together. -
• #24284
Looks like it is welded to the collar and the collar is just pinched with the bolt like a fastback stay?

"Hi Rob. Do I want disk brakes? Nah, that's a load of bollocks, rim brakes perform better"
"Hello again Rob. Jockey wheels that will save me a whole watt you say? For £700? Fucking sign me up"

The idea behind all of these curved tubes is the load just flexes these, not all going to the bolt.
Wouldn't expect a bike with slicks getting too rowdy anyways. -
• #24290
I'm not going to analyse the structure of the truss fork but I feel compelled to mention that a load that flexes a tube is still resolved to a reaction at the support of that tube, and that there isn't necessarily anything wrong with loading a bolt in shear (or indeed any other way if it has been engineered correctly).

That’s fairly pricey shipping? Buy it and I’ll hand deliver it for £500
-
• #24292
How the fuck does he arrive at that price? £750 quid frame brand new. I wonder if he thinks the gold paint job is actually real gold plating.

• #24293
It is mad isn't it.
but then again, owning the same frame Amey used to have is worth draining your account.
-
• #24294
That kind of ‘build’ always comes with a curatorial fee attached.
-
• #24295
Can I pay £3.5k to not have any of Amey's old bikes please
-
• #24296
Cringe
-
• #24297
It's not £3500 for the build, it's £4500.
Ebay limited his price to 3500, so he's added the extra in shipping. -
• #24298
Including the stand?

Not too sure, free collection from Manchester though.

That is wild. Wonder why eBay limited him to £3500? Nice picture of it next to some #nogravel in the ad though. Not even accepting offers - maybe he doesn’t really want to sell it…?
Edit: didn’t Amey do this - build a bike and ‘let the market decide’ whether he should keep it? I reckon this guy has taken some inspiration.
English has the front strut attached to a spacer on the steerer by a single bolt.
It looks very poorly engineered IMO.
The load on the bolt is a shearing load.
Curated componentry, EE brakes andcrank, DuraAce, etc.
Ok for instagram but not off road.
