That's mud on the tyres, because I ride it over playing fields every day. It will be clean.

Hey looks good :) Any idea on tyre clearance?

what's with the seat tube right under the clamp?

Not sure what you mean. It's where the tube is slotted.
-
• #6
Not sure. Think it'll take fatter tyres. Can send you more photos.

Think it's the same model of Plug some forum member describe as "gravel" on here recently. No idea if that's a real thing.

Ok, hma has a point. I hadn't noticed but the seat post is definitely bent around its rear facing slot. It hasn't affected the ride for the few months I've been using it (upgrading to a steamroller). No idea how serious this is but no structural frame damage is good so prepared to make a significant reduction in price. £80.

Nobody want this at £70? Not being a metallurgist, I have no idea of the likelihood of catastrophic failure and resulting highly unpleasant internal injury. Perhaps one of the many know it alls on this forum could comment

I relish their commentary

Take a pic from behind so the slot and the bulge are visible, also ensure image is of descent quality - can't see much from the last one as blurred

This better?

If someone tells me this is fucked and dangerous to ride it's going down the tip

I'm no expert, but are they cracks on welds on seat stays?
Probably repairable rather than skip I wonder for someone.
-
• #16
looks as if someone's put a too small post in there and clamped it up until it didn't move any more maybe?
i reckon you could sort that out easily with it being steel.
i'd take it if i was close by, but i'm not. -

The seat post moves up and down fine
-
• #18
That's the problem, looks like it moves too easily and so the seatpost collar has been overtightened, probably because the seatpost is undersized.
-
• #19
What size is the current seat post? Think Plugs normally take a 27.2
Is the bottom of the slot cracked? Could you remove the seat post and collar and take a couple pics of the top of the seat tube - just trying to assess damage etc.
-
• #20
It's been tightened with no seatpost in or a very too small seatpost at some point.
It's quite easily repairable, not ready for the skip yet -
• #21
Thanks. Helpful responses.
I won't be repairing this myself. Anyone who wants it, make me an offer

Good price despite the slight damage. GLWS
