Ah so you saved up the deposit yourselves, but over a shorter time period than 6months? Surely then you can show payslips, invoices etc and that's it sorted?

Yes this is the case. Switched to a much better contract, at the same time my wife's maths tutoring picked up considerably and with better rates.

There's no generous party in our case, but that would work for someone else I think. In that case (I'm told) they also want to see if the generous party has funds left over to cover living costs etc.
