What's your budget?
Pretty much any bike which you think isn't ULEZ compliant can become ULEZ compliant - you just pay for the official ULEZ emissions test https://www.bikerandbike.co.uk/how-to-get-a-motorcycle-emissions-test-and-beat-the-ulez-charge/ Car owners cannot use this dodge. It's one of the many privileges of being a biker!
If the bike really is a filth machine and really shouldn't pass, you can give it a fighting chance with a petrol additive https://www.halfords.com/motoring/engine-oils-and-fluids/fuel-and-oil-additives/millers-petrol-power-ecomax-500ml-166788.html

My neighbour had one last summer. Pretty similar condition. I helped him with a few running repairs and it was all pretty simple. Fairing bolts are usually a mixed bag, there are lots of spares available though. It's a sweet engine.

Probably should have tried one. Pretty much sworn of scooters now.

If it's straight, shifts smooth and doesn't smoke, everything else is just consumables.
Great handling bikes - would be a lot more fun than the Bird.

The GSXR600 had a reputation among suspension setup experts for being the best handling stock bike.

Spondon TRX?!!! That could be pure moto-porn. Look at the size of it! Sweary Bob really could stack the dimes.

I am in LOVE. FZR400 with K-tech gear and a blade motor and RS250 bodywork? TAKE my money.
It's a good job I live 5000 miles away.

And we're live on Fox 11 News, a stolen motorcycle is being pursued across LA . I watched the whole thing. But no spoilers https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UxszylLORDA

I am here for all these eBay gems. Always torn when looking at track bikes, half of me thinks I'll never use one but also aware of the savings when buying secondhand. Grrr

What he said, as a rule of thumb if Jung says something about a bike I agree. So two votes.
Straight as in legal and check the headstock for accident damage and cracks from cack handed wheelies

If the fzr 4 engine fits then the fzr6 and others fit ..
Edit: didn't understand the advert till I clicked on it. Now that would be fun..fzrr is a great chassis.

Very dry on the lanes today, great fun though. That absolute beast with me was pushing faster and faster on his 990, I was going over 40mph on loose rutted gravel and couldn’t catch up!
On this particular lane though, we were more evenly matched. Ha!

Great chassis indeed. I'd like to see it with its clothes off, so to speak, to see how they did the top engine mounts. I reckon the frame would need to be hacked a bit.
The welds on the Spondon really are something.

Lovely. The first bike I ever rode was a late 60s C50. I had a different one for my first road bike when I was 16. So many adventures on it.

Rode out to the chilterns this morning to explore the byways. Turns out they have hills. Cools story bro etc.

Only took one photo which doesn't include hills. Sorry. CRF is like a little tractor and never seems to break into a sweat on ascents. On the other hand I was definitely sweating on the descents, makes a nice change from my usual Beds and Cambs lanes.

Trip to the garden centre for plant pots anyone?

I think the best 'big' scooter is the SH300. Hard to find anything faster in London because it's thin and twist and go. I'm sure it's not very attractive as a first big bike though!
