What would be the mid point? Starting at Tower Bridge would be nice and easy for me, as I live in SE1, but pushing 40kg of speakers farther than Battersea Bridge and then coming back very late is a bit of a tall order for me. I'm usually up early on a Sunday for junior parkrun.

Looking at this route, Battersea Bridge is about the mid point. 17km in to a 35km ride.

15 years eh?
The last bridges ride I did (sort of) was when I finished an evening at the pub, tossed a coin, turned right and rode to Kew on my Brompton, had some more beer, then rode back, crashed twice in Hammersmith due to front brakes grabbing on hard, ended up in hospital with a broken collar bone, got married two weeks later, high on painkillers, weed and booze, met Ewan McGregor, had a party with you lot, continued to be married, then my wife died, then after too many Porn Star martinis flew to New York just to go to the theatre, got married again, to a woman I also met on my first wedding day, moved to West Hampstead, bought an Aston Martin, sold it, then moved to France, and so basically I live there now and I'm not coming.

It's exactly this type of post that makes me hate how little I've done with my life! 😂

Parklife.
Can you be sure you're in France and not just still high on painkillers from the Hammersmith crash?
Is anyone sure we aren't all just in a Bridges Simulation?

Still trying to convince my Support Team (of 1) to go to Belgium and watching me ride in circles. But if that idiocy doesn't happen I might just ride to the nearest pub with the most riders for the most beers.

It probably all started by going to see Punchdrunk’s The Drowned Man. That opened my mind to a world of new ideas and possibilities.
Their new production The Burnt City just opened in Woolwich Arsenal. Go and visit it. Maybe it’ll do the same for you.

All those years of bridges rides and I still don’t know how the battersea bit actually works. Maybe it’s the glitch in the matrix.
-
• #88
I don't know how any of the bridges work. I'm sure if you stay south of the river too long you lose your mind and become absorbed into the locale, much like the human egg recipients in Aliens 2 stuck to the walls of the ship...

I've never done the East to West version so looking forward to regretting it when having to head all the way back east at the end.

Good times.

Bridges rides are fucking awesome. If you disagree you are wrong.
-
• #93
I am fully expecting the two rides to pass each other on opposite banks of the river and those of us planning to switch directions mid way will arrive at Kew or Tower Bridge and wonder what happened to the other ride. Anything else would not be befitting of this forum.

Fair play. The first one nearly killed me.

bought an Aston Martin, sold it, then moved to France
Oh my. Brilliant.

IF I can get from Heathrow to home by 9pm I'm doing East to East. Last time I managed to lose the ride twice despite going in the same direction.
I anticipate no issues whatsoever with my plan.
