Or get at Yepp mini and have both of them in front of you?
-
• #5703
The yepp mini really is difficult to love on longer rides. Makes my knees hurt thinking about it.
I am gonna make a top tube mounted saddle and some foot rests for my daughter when her brother is old enough to sit in the cargo bike seat. Then she can cycle along side us until she gets tired and jump on when needed. -

The Hamax Siesta tilts and I had it mounted on the vertical steerer tube of my cargo, facing back towards me. That worked quite well when J69x10^-1 was too small to go in the box. It might annoy the child sitting underneath though!

Terrible pic, but you get the idea.
The square hole in the base was for the old Isofix seat I used.

That is good input. I grew up on a bulldog seat myself but have been looking at the Shotgun childseat, as our daycare i less than 1 km away and I'd quite like not to carry the Yepp for the rest of my 18 km commute round trip

Very nice. How will the crown race be fitted on this?
-

Rapid progress! Have enjoyed reading your thread and seeing your framebuilding and machining, inspirational stuff.
-
• #5712
It's been machined already. I'll slide it on and silver solder it in place once fillets are sanded

Thanks man. Much appreciated 😊

Forks are looking fine, will the tops be capped with coins Gios style?
-
• #5716
Not coins as they are oval. But something. Maybe just flat sheet

I think you would do solid business making segmented forks like this. If it is easier all the better! Have a look what Christopher Igleheart charges for them. Admittedly he has made hundreds so can command the cost.

• #5718
I don't mind the idea. But it would take me at least a full day to make one complete fork. Doing freelance work I charge £350ish a day. Would you pay that plus materials?
-
• #5719
Did you have success in the past brazing a mech hanger onto track ends? I can't remember how it turned out - or would you recommend replacing the entire dropouts?
-
• #5720
I haven't done that but it would totally work. I'd be tempted to design something like Hunter Cycles replaceable hanger.
Just make sure that the wheel placement and gear hanger correspondence with chaintug placement and wheel/tyre size -

Cheers!

What are the material costs? Igleheart fork costs here:
https://www.iglebike.com/home.php#forks
If you could keep the forks under £450, I think there would be a market.
Would it take less than a day per fork if you were making a batch?

Stunning (as always).
Congrats on the second child soon!
I'm about a year ahead of you on the two-child front. I've been using a box on my cargo, which kids seem to be able to use from about 2 years old. I'm thinking with J69x10^-2 I might put her in the Hamax on the back of the cargo to start with while she's a bit too small to go loose in the box, then we can still all ride together.
