I just think its an excuse now, covid price is up, this price is up, next thing price is up. The more people that should make the price come down but instead its went up at an alarming rate.

With the rise of digital imaging technologies, Kodak’s film sales have plummeted by 96 percent over the last decade.

That's what you have to pay for to make it still viable to manufacture, the factories are set up for massive outputs and nobody is just going to invest in new machinery.

I was debating whether to sell a lot of analog equipment and get an M6 plus a nice lens instead a couple of years ago (when the M6 bodies still went for about €1000,- - not €2000,- to €3000,- like they do now).
Didn't do it, and I regret not doing it.

Film is so fucking expensive now it just makes sense to shoot it with the best possible equipment to get the most out of it.

I got 42 shots from all 4 rolls which was a nice little bonus.

I'd wanted one since I lived in Tokyo 10 years ago, esp. the big letter version. Every few years I’d done the sums and not taken the plunge but I got a bonus at work and thought fuck it, if not now then when.

If I’d bought it back then I’d have paid half at the most!

Yeah 2 grand odd now for a M6 is mad now.

it will only get more expensive, I have one that I dont use bought for £800 ;)

They will get even more expensive because people like you are hoarding them 🙂

It's some really old 120 film (older than I thought, I didn't think it would be this bad)
I don't really know what happened to the emulsion but I kind of like it🤷

It's lovely. I wondered if it was the paper not the film - looks like when I've used liquid emulsion on various substrates.
