  • I'm really shocked. I never met him but I followed the cycling podcast for many years and had a few email exchanges with hi. He also sent me a copy of Etape as well when it first came out.
For me he was part of the fabric of Procycling. I loved his writing style and thought In search of Robert Millar was an exceptional book.

  • NO......... only listed to a cycling podcast yesterday

  • Agreed, love the podcast and his writing style. 48 is too young.

  • It’s devastating news. What a shocking loss. My heart goes out to his family and friends.

  • Oh fuck. Read the comments immediately above but had to go back a page thinking 'no, it couldn't be...'

I'd met Richard on many occasions, he dated a friend for a couple of years. Really struggling with hearing this. RIP.

  • Yes I'm so stunned at the moment. I always thought I would bump into him at some point. Having moved from the Isle of Man to Derby some months back I had planned to go to one of the cycling Podcast shows as well.

  • What a dreadful loss to the sport. Chatted to him outside the team buses at the tour a few years ago, despite all the chaos he was totally happy to chat and even came back over to finish the conversation after he’d chatted to a rider. Unimaginably sad that he’s gone so young.

  • I’ve posted this in the Pro Cycling thread before checking here. What a huge loss to the sport and podcasting/journalism.

  • I had the pleasure of meeting him when they did the Trainer Road Challenge at the Velodrome. He was very friendly and entertaining too, made the session lots of fun. RIP.

  • Oh no. Terrible news. Far too young. :(

  • RIP Buffalo. I had met and photographed him a few times for The Cycling Podcast and he was a fine man; able to recall the minutae of races but make the whole weird enterprise more human through his writing. "In Search of Robert Millar" is such a fine book, and the Podcast did so much for making cycling relatable for those outside the sport.

  • The Wanted’s Tom Parker. 33 ffs.

  • Love these photos

  • RIP Estelle Harris

  • Ah, she was great.

  • June Brown AKA Dot Cotton from Stenders

    Absolute legend

  • RIP June. In a #csb, she had a nap in the room I'm typing this from when she was filming a show at our place a couple of years back. She was lovely.

  • I genuinely believed she’d live forever

  • I remember her on stage for the tenth birthday of the Dot Cotton Club (2000ish?) and she seemed ancient then! RIP June.

  • Legend. RIP. (Braces, hoping not to find out she was a bad racist or something)

  • Yesterday - Pamela Rooke (Jordan Mooney). Bile duct cancer.

  • Yeah, RIP Jordan

  • When he goes through the committal curtains maybe he'll come back out dressed as an astronaut?
