Changing directions slightly, I found a Certina I like. Very well priced. 80h reserve. Nothing fancy inside. But damn that bezel [bites lower lip]
Clean lines. not too much text. Not an oddly placed date window. Nice size (42mm - sorry small guys). 200m WR. NOT a submariner copy
Also only 11.9mm thick. So not a Tudor thik Booi
Not bad for £785

What about one of these (or in black)?

I really enjoy my certina!
I prefer this one though, the other ones are trying to hard to look vintage imo.

The black face version is better but even so, it's just so flat a lifeless. No one is picking that over a BB 58 for the same money. And the less descerning customer celebrating their promotion to regional deputy manager is probably picking an Aquaracer.
In other news I keep seeing these new Oris Propilot and they've really caught my eye.

I quite like the retro look on this strangely...
Also very weirdly the PVD one which is not normally my style at all.

I wonder if the certina couldve been thinner without an open caseback...

Not a fan of the strap but it's actually quite nice!

You try an RAF strap (similar to a Nato but without the extra keeper) or a Zulu (usual a thicker nyon material, no keeper and beefier hardware) and I also have few Rhino straps from Timefactors, which are well suited to a diver watch head, which are usually heavier.

the PVD would probably look shit on anything other than a brown strap... black would make it too Navie-Seels

My local jewelers have had this in the window for over a month plus a few other models at over 20% off so maybe they'll be a 3k watch brand soon one way or the other. Tempted?

Genuinely wonder who buys these. Or any Bremont for that matter. Even ignoring the BB58, why bother with that when you could get an arguably as good Seiko SPB for far less money or an SLA with arguably far better finishing, timekeeping and actual heritage for about the same?

I like them. But would prefer a second hand Omega Constellation Globemaster for a similar price.

People who want to buy a fancy watch, for whom 'made in britain' is a big draw.
See also, people getting custom bikes with Spitfire paintjobs.

I literally googled 'herge reservoir watch' and already found it;

Why don't they get a Roger Smith? :)

Or Christopher Ward?

Neither CW or RWS are made in Britain though…

Mine was tongue in cheek.
I just went into Rolex on Bond Street to kill time. I'm not sure how it passed me by that they had gone completely exhibition only. And dropped all the colourful dial OPs. Gent was very diplomatic about the lhd GMT. Nice man.

Good choice of strap for that classic look.
They're starting to pop up online with some chunky discounts on certain models and not flying off the shelves. My local jewelers have had this in the window for over a month plus a few other models at over 20% off so maybe they'll be a 3k watch brand soon one way or the other. Tempted?

When i saw it i thought that was a good price then without going in immediately went straight over the road to try on a BB 58 and that was before I'd watched this
