I need to replace my old brake blocks on some Weinmann 500s. Basically they are terrible at stopping and a near miss has motivated me to search out better ones. At the moment it's those old metal/rubber square things with a threaded bar and nut. The rims are definitely not steel, probably aluminum if I'm not mistaken...
Any tips?
Thanks -

I'd take a look at the Koolstops for Weinmann on their site and see what would fit, they have dimensions listed: http://www.koolstop.com/english/rim_pads.html

Brake pads needed replacing on the road bike and have no idea what to buy. Current ones are the stock shimano 105. I always ride in the dry unless I get caught out by the weather.
Koolstop? Swisstop?

What's good for long, switchbacky descents? Swissstop Green?

What is the difference between the Shimano R55C3 and R55C4 brake pads?
Just took the worn pads off my 105 brakes and noticed they are C4 and I've bought C3.

C4 are newer, 9000 series. C3 are older, 7900 series.

Cheers. Will return the C3s and buy C4.

Any recommendations for brake pads that don't turn leave rims, pads etc covered in a grey sludge in the rain? Have been using koolstop salmon on my shimano rims but they don't seem to perform as the reviews suggest.

swissstop bxp

No pads will stop grey sludge in wet weather, it's dirt/pad/rim detritus, but as amey says swissstop bxp (blue) are the best pads.

Another vote for Swissstop BXP. I take off the wheels to make sure there’s no chunks of anything embedded (you normally hear it before you go and look anyway) and give the pads a gentle scrape with a flat fine file when doing a half decent clean of the bike or after particularly mucky ride.

Same, I've trashed several rims through neglect, rims and brake pads cleaned/checked once a week.
What are good disc brake pad brands?
