  • Got the first (test) roll back that I shot on my new M6 & Nokton 35mm/1.4 with Ilford FP5 at 200. Mainly family shots but very chuffed with how the lens performed, and the metering of the camera.

TBH the thing I'm most surprised by is the grain, considering it was FPS 125 pushed 1 stop ... much more than I expected.

..ooh, nice, have fun with that!

I was debating whether to sell a lot of analog equipment and get an M6 plus a nice lens instead a couple of years ago (when the M6 bodies still went for about €1000,- - not €2000,- to €3000,- like they do now).
Didn't do it, and I regret not doing it.

Film is so fucking expensive now it just makes sense to shoot it with the best possible equipment to get the most out of it.

  • I'd wanted one since I lived in Tokyo 10 years ago, esp. the big letter version. Every few years I’d done the sums and not taken the plunge but I got a bonus at work and thought fuck it, if not now then when.

If I’d bought it back then I’d have paid half at the most!

  • Yeah 2 grand odd now for a M6 is mad now.
