I for one had 90 miles of great fun and then 60 miles of pure headcold misery on MoK. Company was incredible though, what lovely bunch. I really enjoyed the ride out from Whitstable too even though it was really fucking cold the roads were totally clear. For boring mathladymeme.jpg reasons I scratched at Headcorn so I'll need to do a 300 later in the year, but I certainly had another 60km in legs, just maybe not in the sinuses or the brain.
Anyone signed up for LWL?

We did the Delightful Dales 200 up in Lancashire/Yorkshire/Cumbria on Sunday for our RRTY. Never done this one before, boy was it hilly. 25% up Park Rash. No ice in the morning and turned out to be a great day (thou a bit windy).

When did hotels in Bristol get so expensive? Was thinking about doing that 400k this weekend but £300 in hotels and trains just for a fucking ride in the UK seems stupid. 4am start though means I don't want to drive over getting no sleep then ride getting no sleep then drive back. That's also dumb. Looks like it's back to the shitty Chilterns with the shitty London drivers.

I was going to be taking the missus.
If it was up to me I'd drive there (fuck GWR), ride, sleep in the car, drive back. -

"Bunk Bed in Male Dormitory Room with Shared Bathroom" and they want £75 for it for the 2 nights. I guess the missus can just stay outside keeping an eye on the bikes...

Ah, fuck. I used to commute every day so I could tell all the breeders had fucked off for school holidays when the traffic suddenly halved. Now I'm sat in my cube of death with no fucking clue about that shit.
Thanks. Maybe I need to put that crap in my calendar and leave before everyone else.

Late reply but this may be useful to others in this thread.
There’s a real good app called EpicRideWeather that gives you hyper local weather forecasting for routes. You can upload directly from RideWithGPS, select a start time, average speed etc and then you get a pretty sweet set of weather data.
The wind direction map is particularly useful.

Second that this is a good app. Used it as an alternative to weatherbagel when that hasn't worked for me sometimes. I think you only get a few free uses on it then have to pay, I seem to remember though that I uninstalled it and reinstalled it and got some more free uses.

I paid for that during TABR and it chewed through a tonne of credits with what seemed very little use so I ditched it.

Have a look over the bridge into Wales, school holidays are a bit later and Brizzle prices should drop. Not too far to ride over to the start depending..........

We've decided to stay local (urgh) and skip the 400. But I want to go to Wales at Easter if I can find a place less than £40,000 for 4 days...

Trying to get a doctor to sign a "hippy won't die" note for an audax.
"You can't call to book, you need to book online"
"I've never booked online and my missus did this already and didn't book online"
"Oh, well, you have to book a phone appointment before you can book a walk-in"
books appointment
Doctor emails: "I can't sign that form. I don't understand sports doctoring you'll need to speak to another doctor"
emails again to book appointment with other doctor
"You can't email to book, you need to call at 8am and this doctor is only in 2 days a week and we're booked 4 weeks in advance*
Email "Can I book after 4 weeks?"
"Yes we can book in 4weeks, please call us to book an appointment as are unable to do this via email." -

I just don't bother trying doctor for that shit any more. I just use an online paid service. Cost me about £60 last time I did it, but easy life.
https://www.sportsmedicalcertificates.comNow I have an online GP service through (my wife's) work. I intend to use them for my TCR cert. I think that they do pay as you go for £50.
http://www.babylonhealth.comI really don't know how I would go about making an appointment to actually see a doctor nowadays.
