Is anyone selling a decent 35mm compact? I'm open to anything but smaller is better!

Anyone happen to have a canon 50e they want to sell? Can be body only, but a 50mm prime for it would be useful too.

Have sent mine over to camera works in Bury, came highly recommended. Big backlog apparently and I'm missing the m6 but hopefully it'll be back before too long ...

I've just put a Canon EOS 500N 35mm (body only) in the buy/sell section. Might be of interest?

Cheers! Just messaged you before realising it's a 500n not a 50e :-D

Hi all,
Posting a generic / shitty photo to ask some advice.
There are two kinds of artefacts on this, the blue flare on the right side and the repeated greenish flares on top and bottom. I'm pretty sure these are some form of light leak but not sure. This was taken with a
Contax 139Q + Carl Zeiss Planar 1.4/50 T* C/Y lense and 400 Ultramax Kodak
The blue flare / artefact is present on some of the photos I've taken. This is my second roll with this camera and the problem persists. The green bands could be to not-tightly wound film although again I'm not sure.
I would be very grateful for any input/suggestions on this.
PS: I also included an action shot of Cresswell goal on Sunday WHU vs EVE

It looks like light leaks, yes.
My first guess is it's the camera door not shutting tightly enough, maybe the foam inside is missing in parts, for example at the hinge (where the film with the already-taken shots is wound up).
You could check this / replace the foam, or in the meantime tape around the edges on the back of the door with thick black tape after you have put in the next roll and see if the problem persists. -

Thanks for the idea, will try it out. I've already ordered a foam replacement kit which looks fiddly af to fit but it'll have to do.

You're welcome!
Yea, foam replacement needs a bit of patience, getting out the old stuff / cleaning mostly..
It'll be worth it though I'm sure, it's a nice camera you have there 🙂

Got the first (test) roll back that I shot on my new M6 & Nokton 35mm/1.4 with Ilford FP5 at 200. Mainly family shots but very chuffed with how the lens performed, and the metering of the camera.
TBH the thing I'm most surprised by is the grain, considering it was FPS 125 pushed 1 stop ... much more than I expected.

It was about £60 a box last year when I bought some I’m sure but now it’s wild.
£15 a roll or £13 for gold. I’ll still buy 400 tbh

Totally mad, the cost of film..
..what I really don't get is how so much of the stuff is sold out regularly, for years now.
So the demand is definitely there - are they (Kodak, Fuji..) not able to produce more as chemicals are not available due to Covid etc.?

I think the bulk of film consumers were movie studios and maybe pro photographers for sports and news. That's all gone. Some studios made contracts to keep Kodak making film stock for the next couple of years but even if a film is shot on film it goes straight to digital for distribution, so no film reels for cinemas etc.
Some recent stuff
