They def changed factory sometime after the Palace 1 and that might have coincided with the disc brake frames/thru axles coming along? None of my welds look anything like those in the video
In 2016 I contacted Pro-Lite about one of the models they had in their catalogue. They're a respected OEM constructor in Taiwan. Unfortunately they no longer stocked what I was after but they did get back to me with an offer - a decent price on a Bowman frameset from a batch that hadn't been paid for.
Well, if Bowman were having issues paying people way back then then it's hardly surprising the way things eventually turned out, nor that they may have ended up with a different and lesser constructor.

Re. cycling media mafia; even the reviews of the Palace 1 quoted frankly ridiculous frame weights, I even emailed Neil after he personally delivered mine in 2015 to say "how does a 56cm review frame weigh 1150g when my 52cm is 1390g?"
