Worth considering some offerings from Hutchinson, IMO they have the best tubeless setup and are very well priced. Fusion 5 all season or Intensive 2 could be worth considering for nice tough but not horrible tyres. Not huge sizes mind.

thanks, they look interesting but as you say, small sizes (28c max).
for "road" type tyres i have IRC x guard which don't get much of a mention on here but are the first set of road tubeless which i didn't quickly end up putting tubes into.
marathon supreme replacements would need to be 35c+, for me.
