This place does not need redecorating in my opinion - i'd happily live with most of it apart from maybe Bedroom 1...
Anyone have a spare £1000000?

You'd have to pay me £1000000 to live there
Fuck me that shit heap in BuA for the best part of £1m. Time to be alive etc.

ouch!
the house or B on A ? -

(that said, I guess you are paying for the opportunity to knock it down and build two houses)

The pic doesn't do it justice, it's very much late-90s deep yellow floral wallpaper with golden mustard curtains. Inoffensively offensive vs offensively inoffensive.

Cracking project but fucking hell you'd need deep pockets.

cant believe 6pt actually showed his decor here

• #52535
Yeah at least 2 you would have thought.

Movers, SE - any recommendations?

harradines left me saddened about the state of my larger furniture and needing to call an emergency plumber to fix the mess they made, so not them. the guys they sent to move us in were considerably more careful and pleasant than the moving-out guys, but by then the damage was done.

Out of interest, did you get quotes from firms in SE and also local to where you moved? I'm just about to start getting quotes and wondering if places are cheaper outside of the M25
-
• #52541
I did, moved from SE13 to Kent, Harradines were cheaper than firms in Kent, perhaps due to firms not wanting to come in and out of London (I didn't bother finding out, as it was so much more I didn't take them seriously).
I found Haradines decent personally, and a friend used them two weeks ago and was happy.

Good to know, thanks

Another problem, they've kept the house in a good shape overall, but for instance flooring (entrance vs. kitchen) doesn't match since it's all done in different times. Upstairs is all old carpet which needs to go. Wallpaper choices are very questionable. Almost every room needs an update, flooring + walls.

The future is genuinely screwed when that is basically a mil. I thought Bradford was a bit of a hole?
-
• #52545
Yeah we did. Ours was a rush move > store > move job almost immediately after Xmas so it was a bit of a clusterfuck for getting quotes in and finding availability. prices were basically the same overall, I think rural were a cheaper move but a pricier store oddly.

There is a lot of stone and concrete in that garden.

Different Bradford.
Still, I agree.

Bradford on Avon - near Bath, not Bradford Yorkshire

Our quotes moving Kent> Kent were eye watering. My dad nearly had a coronary and told me what he paid to for his movers, I cried.
Shit people in the chain meant I ended up missing bookings and doing it myself and my dad with two Bedford vans and a couple of lockup units

FYI I think it was 2k, plus storage. But that was obviously with an extra unload/load compared to a straight move.
Galling.
"Developer beige" I think it's called.
It's so very offensively inoffensive.
We've not redecorated from similar in the 5 years we've been here.
