Little Fred Wright on VCL mount 10 years ago.
I reckon the club would have been drowning out the locals when Fred was leading past there yesterday!

Any idea what the beef was about at the end between Pidders and Movistar No. 65?
-
• #38979
Is this the new series not on Netflix? If so, how are you watching it?
-
• #38980
There wasn’t a Movistar #65.

Sonny Colbrelli has had a defibrillator fitted and has now been discharged from hospital in Italy, two weeks after collapsing at the end of stage one of the Volta a Catalunya.
if Colbrelli is to return to competitive racing then he almost certainly won't be able to race in his home country. Italy prevents athletes competing with an ICD fitted, which is a device placed under the skin with the ability to perform defibrillation by sending electrical pulses to regulate abnormal heart rhythms.

This is the reason why the footballer Christian Eriksen came to play in England this season.

Indeed. Obviously diminishes value of an international sportsperson when a key nation is off limits.

Shitter.

Ha! Apparently the team appealed to the commissaires about the finish. I do hope their response was: “You fucked it up. Get over it.”

I first thought that at warp speed, but on review, DVB does move across at least one virtual lane and impede Pog. Not saying Pog would have podiumed, but DVB did deviate and impede. Rules-be-rules-be. Don’t make me dig out the PDF again!
Roll on painted sprint lanes.
(I’m not a Pog fan, so couldn’t care less about this one.)

Easy to see where the frustration comes from here. Van Baarle went from sprinting is the centremost position, with two people on his right, to being right next to the barriers. Tricky cos, as others have said, only one person can jump on mvdp's wheel.

From the overhead it looks more like pogacar sticks his nose between DVB and madouas when they’re shoulder to shoulder, expecting them to move. Except when he comes round madouas, DVB doesn’t change line really in relation to the right hand barrier

That’s a static photo.

It's clear from this image he is not moving right in this image

If you watch this, hopefully it works, then you can see that Van Baarle doesn’t deviate from his line until Pogacar nudges him.

Yeah, that works and is clear. Looks like DVB deviates, obstructs and endangers. 5.1. I’d want at least CHF 100 for that and back of the group. The overhead shot better demonstrates proximity.
Look, I’m not a Pog fan. But rules need to be enforced consistently.
Painted lanes for the final ~50m would solve most of this. Not sure why people are against them. You know you wouldn’t have to paint them yourself?

Looks like DVB deviates, obstructs and endangers.
Not a chance. Honestly, if you think that is a dirty sprint then you are in for a real shock.
Painted lanes would solve nothing.

I don’t think it’s a dirty sprint. That’s subjective.
I think contravenes 5.1.
Why would you be against painted lanes? Visual reference points for sprinters and commissaires would clearly help.
-
• #38997
I agree with this, gap isn’t there in the first place. DVB should hold his line but pog wasn’t getting past and it would be dangerous to try.

MVDP post race: ' ..... sprint not park ......'

Re painted lines, if you’re on someones wheel and going faster, how are you then supposed to get round them?

Or what do you do if the finish isn't on a perfectly straight road.
and remember folks, this is 260km race...
This kinda thing is what I point out when people reckon you can become pro on 'hard work' alone. G-netik fr3akz
