That looks outrageously good

Was nice. Needed some spring onions in it i think. Experimenting with different breads. This Turkish bread was great light fluffy with a nice crispy outside.

Looks like what you'd get a Berlin kebab in.
That sandwich looks ridiculously good.

Ok so after a very weird conversation with the (Irish) wife, how many of you out there have eaten pimento cheese?

Ah, CBC productions; mediocrity as a culture.
Obviously the issue deserved better. -
• #31908
That was fun, thanks for sharing

"In the meantime - I'll take two turnovers"
Love it. Really well made. Makes important points about food and culture.

Harsh - I thought the production was charming.

I’ve grown up with CBC tv and film, stilted acting and badly written scripts are the norm.

Made carbonara with eggs from my own chooks and home cured and smoked bacon.
I thought I had reggiano in the fridge - but found that I was out. Emergency replacement was extra mature Gouda.
Italians will be spinning in place when I tell you that it is sooooo much better. Give it a go.

Don't know if anyone watches it, because the presenters are...
But our farm's Hogget was on Sunday Brunch today, cooked by Nicholas Balfe:

So that was pretty exciting.
(still only available in Peckham, or potentially direct through our Dan- Otter Valley Farms- if you're passing by). -

His half brother is Richard, owns some bike shops.
Which butcher in Peckham carries it?
-

Flock and Herd.
Ah that Balfe eh?
Lambing season just started for us so it’s doubly exciting. -
• #31916
The owner of Flock and Herd has kids at B's primary school. His van is parked around the place frequently. I'll accost him next time.

Suggestions for Afghan food? Is Afghan Kitchen still going or any good these days?
Or should I go to Alounak for Persian food?

I just got the Ottolenghi shelf love book, it’s smashing, as implied by the title it’s recipes with ingredients readily available from your shelf or normal shops (apart from black limes). I thought I’d done chickpeas in every possible way, until I made the “confit chickpea tandoori” which was sooo good.

Chippy - whereabouts?

I’m out of touch post-pandemic.
Antillean, mentioned recently, was excellent but very expensive.
Ma Petit Jamaica in Camden is always good fun, owned by the Cottons people I think.
Our locals are all excellent but probably a trek for you - Roti Stop on Stamford Hill, Calabash Stratford and Caribbean Flavours Leytonstone (takeaway).
