Yep, agreed. Trouble is all the stickers are vertical – they read downwards rather than left to right. To place one on each side on the downtube would mean creating reproduction stickers, rather than using the NOS ones as shown in the pic.
Which may be the best thing to do…

Can't you cut the letters separately and place them left to right? Fiddly and might take some time, but after a decade that should not be your main concern right :)

I was about to say the same. If you take your time and use a ruler it might work well. You can always try with one :)

Ha! Got to be worth a try. 🤔

Good to see bringing this project back to life after such a period of time! Beside the decal questions, what are the component plans?

The advice has been a mix of Campagnolo and Spidel, for which I have gathered a decent haul of parts. I’m planning an inventory check from the storage boxes so I’ll post some pics very soon.

Meanwhile, here’s a pic of the Jacques Suire shop back in the day (thanks Jacques) with the road racing team assembled outside. Love that Peugeot support vehicle.

Just seen this frame for sale on a certain popular auction site then discovered this thread. I hope it goes to somebody who appreciates the history.

Yes what a splendid project for someone. I hope someone feels the love for it.

Thanks both. It’s a wrench to sell it but due to a change in circumstances I’ll only ever end up hanging it on a wall. Let’s be honest, I’ve owned it for over a decade and haven’t managed to get much past collecting the parts. It needs to be with someone who loves it. And rides it.
Nice and long build mate. I can’t really say I’ve totally understood what are the possibilities for decals placement. I’m not a huge fan of a single down tube stickers... Why couldn’t you put one on each side? Your post from 10 years ago showed a lot of original decals.
