He bonked hard there didn’t he? Seem to remember reading somewhere that VdP gets very cold and just attacks to warm up - possibly in Tirreno ^
I know Kristoff hasn’t been in great form, and doesn’t have the same kind of team but he strikes me as someone who would do well in tough conditions.

He really did bonk hard in Yorkshire. Probably one of the most spectacular bonks I've seen. One minute he looked good, the next he was gone.
I don't think it's going to be so cold that the weather is a factor, current forecast says a high of 9 degrees centigrade in Oudenaarde on Sunday.

Sunday is arm warmers and gilet weather and shirtsleeves in the afternoon.

I was in the states for the last week of tdf so watched some of the US coverage - him and Christian Vende velde were both suited and tied in the studio
