I'm going to the open day at Herne Hill makerspace on Wednesday (if my musings about Covid exposure ahead of Christmas allow me), they've apparently got a well equipped woodworking workshop, but as it's a community thing I'd feel pretty comfortable about buying some equipment for them as my contribution - so any such kit will have a home I'm afraid.

I was a member briefly about 3/4 years ago if it's the one behind the shops opposite the park in the arches. south london makerspace i think it was.
there's plenty of decent woodworking tools in there and the induction was very good for an overview of how use to most of them but it's not that big in there, it might be a good practice location for chopping and fixing things together but assembly on any kind of scale would prove tricky imo.

That's good info, thanks. I'm very much at the hand-waving stage at the moment but it might make more sense to make the parts in the workshop and then assemble on site, I'd probably need to make a big table just to lay everything out on to assemble it mind.

I'd probably need to make a big table
Sounds complicated

I’d give it a 5 on the door scale of impossibility

Good - without taking sides the whole thing seems unfortunate and a bit unnecessary.
I do feel a bit bad for putting it in this thread, but if this now becomes the current projects thread for your doors I won't!
Or rather I will, because it would be all my fault.

As they're getting along so well it would be a shame to leave out @playswellwithotters

This actually quite resembles feeding time in our house, though ours is not as cute. There’s normally at least one mini otter fucking about on the table while the others try to sit nicely.

At least its that and not this:
mini otter fucking on the table

Ah, what a popcorn party that was. Good times.

Good call. Did you hear there's otters on/in/by the Mersey around Didsbury now?
-
• #6369
No, but I'm definitely going to look into it.

I just sent you a fb msg link on it

@snottyotter saves the day yet again! All in a day's work folk, no need to thank me, the knowledge that I'm doing god's work is enough. All proceeds should be donated to the forum.

Yes, feeling a bit bad about that now - Sharkstar's post is apposite.
