Hmmm, guess I'm missing something. When I write my text I see the option "Upload a file" at the bottom of the text box. That is the option I selected for my first message, but then my photo only uploads as a downloadable attachment instead of an in-text image (the latter is what I want).
I also see the "Image" button on the top, but that one asks me to "Enter or paste your image link here".

RE images, you can upload files directly to your post using the ‘upload an image’ link under the text editor.
