I’d be down for it all. if you’re down Islington way? I’m based in Islington. I’ve recently messed up my lid and boots.

Spot on! If you've sat at 150 or so for an extended period, 70 feels like you can get off and walk. And when you do get off and walk, you bump into things because you're still trying to stare a thousand yards into the distance.
@pdlouche what about a minitwins racer with a daytime MOT? Max thrash, cornering antics,
without the go to jail, do not pass go speed? -

I probably mentioned this before, but an old colleague of mine had a Yam R1, due to reasons he acquired an R3 for a song.
He then sold the R1, as the 300 was 90% as capable as the R1, rapid of the line, easier to move around traffic, more economical and more comfortable.
The only downer was at "motorway speeds" it was lacking anything in reserve to get passed things (I understood this to mean there was no 70-100 grunt for quickly passing stuff)
But he didn't do many motorway miles on two wheels, so largely moot. -

Seems to be the way to go

PM'd.

70 feels like you can get off and walk
For me it was coming into the pitlane and attempting to climb off the bike, then realising I'm still doing 40mph.

Try a week on the IOM and then returning to ‘normal’ speeds. I was sitting at 130 on the motorway before I thought about checking my speed. 70 is way too slow!!!!

Was that the guy from fat wanker racing ;)

Ha ha, if you haven't done that and not noticed then you are truly a biker.
Everyone does that.

There was a cheap sv here too.

Thinking ahead for when the rubber needs replacing.
Currently I have Michelin Road Pilot 3s, quite happy with their performance.
Cant comment on longevity as I haven't had it long and my mileage is fairly minimal (but will be increasing over the coming months)I know 3s have been superseded, but still available.
Worth looking at 4, 5 or 6s? or are they much for a much? (I know Michelin spaff off about improved longevity and wet weather performance with each incremental progression, but marketing BS has to exist)Anything else to consider?
Would be for solely on the road, in all weathers, all year round. -

I’m sure that there are something like Road 5’s now? Possibly have 4’s on the bird and they are very good.

Many moons ago I went from a VFR750 to a ZZR11 and my m'way cruising speed became 130. I didn't have a double bubble screen and my neck would ache after a ride. Eventually the ache stopped happening, but my neck had grown. I had a posh suit and tie job and couldn't do the shirt collars up any more. I had to start buying semi-custom shirts. Couldn't afford proper Jermyn St custom.

I currently have a massive jones for a Suzuki RMZ450. Never had a 450MX bike before, don't need one. Don't have space for one. What is wrong with my brain?
-
• #20191
Well, there are three reasons.
Suzuki
RMZand
450
Make it so.

It's basically power corrupts. I really liked the little CRF250 I had a go on the other week BUT, would have loved it with more Oomph.
And not that I really have a clue but Suzuki dirt bikes handle SO well. My RM250 was an absolute joy, similarly all the other ones I've ridden have had a similar feel, whether older RM or even DRZ....they turn easy and feel fun.
Kick start only is a bit of a bummer.

Yes indeed. I need lightweight bikes and listing the ‘bird is part of my trying to ween off of power before I am addicted.
On dirt, I love the DR350 and don’t need more power… I could do with a bike that weighs 50kg less though!

n+1? 😁

I never had the urge to go fast on the road despite riding a supersport. I hit 170mph racing my mum on her RR1000 along the A12 and the sheer terror outweighed any semblance of fun. However, my dad introduced me to track racing last year and I have become an addict. Going fast on track is such a different experience.

Feel like we could end the thread on that comment, just awesome. Are you doing track days or racing? Every year I mean to do more (track days) but don't pull my finger out essentially.

Your mum is awesome.

Get to fuck with the talk of need. It has no place in this thread.
Liked the yam 450/425 2 strokes as the ones I rode were fun on an Mx track.

Your mum just won the mother being cool competition.

This is likely the wrong thread but I’m in a ‘don’t care’ mood!

The first time I did 150mph+ it felt like warp speed, the second time it felt noticeably slower which was frightening. For me climbing the cc ladder was like an enjoyable apprenticeship but once you've ridder a 1000cc sports bike it all gets a bit silly. Ironically it also gets a bit boring riding a fast bike slow than a slower bike fast. Aware I'm preaching to the choir here but hope all works out with the sale/whatever's next.
