I never had the urge to go fast on the road despite riding a supersport. I hit 170mph racing my mum on her RR1000 along the A12 and the sheer terror outweighed any semblance of fun. However, my dad introduced me to track racing last year and I have become an addict. Going fast on track is such a different experience.
The first time I did 150mph+ it felt like warp speed, the second time it felt noticeably slower which was frightening. For me climbing the cc ladder was like an enjoyable apprenticeship but once you've ridder a 1000cc sports bike it all gets a bit silly. Ironically it also gets a bit boring riding a fast bike slow than a slower bike fast. Aware I'm preaching to the choir here but hope all works out with the sale/whatever's next.
