  • Calling customer support for pretty much any big company. Get routed through umpteen different automated systems, finally get to speak to a person in a call centre in India, because the sound quality is now so crap being routed through several systems it's almost impossible to understand each other and there is a huge delay. The Call centre people have standard scripts they have to follow so you get asked the same questions over and over without actually getting to the point where you are able to have someone understand what your problem. In the background it either sounds like a party or everyone else in the call centre saying "Hello? Are you still there? Can you hear me?"
On hold for what seems like hours at a time listening to really REALLY shitty music at a terrible quality due to aforementioned multiple-phone-systems routing.

Then you get cut off randomly and have to start all over again.

  • there's no such thing as actual service anymore. companies are just all doing the barest of minimums to extract the maximum amount of profit. they'd rather put money into pretending to offer supporting their customers than actually support them.

  • Calm down Nigel
