• I've not been paying attention, are we talking Volvo wheels? I had a 760 estate that would always let me down. My BIL runs a family tyre business and said Volvo alloys corode inside the tyre allowing leaks. He removed two troublesome tyres and brushed what looked like bitumin on the wheel surface. The tyres never troubled me again. He said it happened a lot but the fix didn't always work. I don't suppose it's an expensive remedy and I assume all tyre shops do it.

  • It's not a Volvo, no. I think rims have paint that flakes off and causes air gaps or corrodes a bit or they take hits on potholes and deform slightly so the seal isn't great. I might try and take it to a wheel shop, but I just don't drive that often. I have a day off tomorrow so will see if I can drop it afterwards.
