• I probably mentioned this before, but an old colleague of mine had a Yam R1, due to reasons he acquired an R3 for a song.
    He then sold the R1, as the 300 was 90% as capable as the R1, rapid of the line, easier to move around traffic, more economical and more comfortable.
    The only downer was at "motorway speeds" it was lacking anything in reserve to get passed things (I understood this to mean there was no 70-100 grunt for quickly passing stuff)
    But he didn't do many motorway miles on two wheels, so largely moot.
