I have bikes > £1k on Admiral.

Halifax, max £5k for individual bikes though. Standard bikes are insured up to £10k but at £500 each. Any more and they need to be specified.

I'm with Admiral, their platinum contents policy covers unlimited bikes under £350 and then named bikes up to a value of £12000 with individual bikes at a max of £5000

Thanks all, good to know. My buliitt exceeds the 5k limit though so it looks like Laka might be only option after all.

It has done less than 1000 miles and I'd describe it as being in 'fair' condition with usual usage scratches. We gave her a bit of a discount when she bought it, and she doesn't want the expense of replacing the battery herself hence the reasonable price

The Tern is £5.9k but I got a bit of a discount and for the amount it would have cost to get a standalone policy to cover the remaining, I couldn't be arsed. So I suppose it depends how much it exceeds it and your appetite for that risk gap.

Message received to say my GSD is ready! Also just received the lidded euro crate in the post for the front rack. Hamax Carress arrived yesterday.

solent plastics? The shipping on these is mad, but they are amazing, I took the opportunity to tidy the shed and ordered like 15 boxes.

also order spare brake pads, I had to replace mine at 500km, shorter life than I expected but did half a winter on it so not that bad. I got from Aliepxress. I cant remember if you got the one with chain or belt, if chain I think you need 2 chains to replace it.

How do you plan to fix the box to the rack?

Not sure yet. I will look at the bolts that hold the base to the rack (not sure if they are bolts or rivets) and see if I can put holes in the box and bolt through there. Or, just bungee strap over the top, but I'd prefer something less immediately nickable. Worst comes to worst, some holes in some of the side flanges of the box and cable ties.

Lid isn't completely water tight so may need some drain holes inside anyway. Likely a 5mm hole at each corner.

I drilled and added a rubber sheet at the bottom. Also act as drain holes.

They look good if they can be fixed down whilst keeping some semblance of waterproofing

might benefit from holes in the bottom anyway to stop water collecting?

and yes those are restrap straps as I am not a fucking animal to use 'bungees'

I have some weatherproofing strips from fixing some windows, so that might go well under the lip of the lid. Not submerged in the Thames safe, but would stop rain and splashes. Need to also see how easy it is to remove the lid completely. Looks like 4 torx screw, but not sure if they are self tapped straight into plastic, if so I don't want to be taking them in and out.

Inner tubes are also great. Either on their own or with plastic buckles attached

Also have a couple of Moon Orion lights to go on the back of the Stormbox to give more visibility to the width of the thing from behind rather than just a central light on the rack.
