The photos are on what’s called The Pipe Track. It runs from Strathblane up to Killearn.
Went on a recce mission to see how to link up an entirely off road route from home out to Aberfoyle.

Post your findings..
I don't think it possible!

I will!
I say entirely … I think it could be 90% off road.
I need to figure out an off road way from Killearn to the edge of Queen Elizabeth Forest Park. I admit this will be the tricky part, it might take a stretch on the A81 if I can’t cut across some fields.Have you tried to link Killearn up towards Gartmore before?

I always thought the Pipe Track was the metalled road from Drymen through Dalmary, Gartmore, Cobleland etc?
Your photos are from the path of 76,593 gates?
Rather than ride on the a81 wouldn't it be better to jump onto the Westy Way, follow it to Gartness then the back lanes up to the a811, across it onto the WHW again, up to that road I thought was the pipe track and into the QEFP just above Dalmary?

Actually, it looks like there's a track heading north from a farm just off the a811 that eventually joins that road to Dalmary etc.
You need to be too zoomed in to see it to post the whole thing in one screenshot but you get the idea.

Aye all of this makes perfect sense. I was thinking a81 up to balfron station then cut across.
But the a811 onto the whw then up Old Drymen road to the edge of QEFP like you say is probably the best way.Your photos are from the path of 76,593 gates?
haha aye they are annoying af, all about 50 meters apart. Yeah, the photos are all taken close to the bottom of Dumgoyne. The photo of the heritage path sign was taken today on the path of a million gates. I've always known it as the pipe track, but maybe theres yet another road known as the pipe track? Wouldn't be surprising since they all kinda lead towards Loch Katrine.

I'm starting to think that Old Drymen road up towards Dalmary might just be the best option. I'll call it a Groad ride so I can say its 100% -

Aye so I googled and it seems folk do call that road the pipe track too.
