I've seen those listings up for days
-
• #62753
these are complete GS copies - but they look great

I'd argue that they're far more inline with Citizen's own Hi-Line references. Grand Seiko didn't invent dauphin hands or high polished dial furniture.

Tudor is releasing new stuff on Wednesday. Hoping for a new Ranger in sub 39mm.
-
• #62756
combined with the textured dials as well though and the hr markers feel very 'GS'
no bad thing I just think they share a the same design language
-
• #62757
But do they share the same grammar?
The case shape of the one on bracelet is very GS. Would still bang.

What's the ref? Curious

Guessing an updated Skydweller is due based on the latest Rolex tagline shown on their Instagram?
-
• #62760
They've just updated the Ernest Jones near me and they've done a great job, plus Zenith has now appeared, amongst Breitling, Tudor and more Omega.
They've timed it nicely with Watches and Wonders, hopefully they get some interesting stuff in once the announcements are made.

Hmmmm I've been eyeing up a zenith defy skyline for integrate bracelet goodness
-
• #62765
Is this an indication that 'The Citizen' range is going to be sold outside the JDM market ?

Has the Swatch website imploded or is it just me ?
-
• #62767
No it's back now.
-
• #62768
Assume from the total lack of pricing and "limited to 90 units" I'll never be able to find or afford any of them. Shame as the date only one is banging.
-
• #62769
Limited to 90 is only the sub seconds dial one on the integrated strap.

Still gutted I gave the black dial elite back.
I was thinking of selling the blue one I have. Let me know if you are interested.
Ref is 03.2290.679/51.C700

The time only quartz is also a ‘limited edition’ so I fear availability/price is going to reflect that.

The Hi-Line is extremely similar to the Seiko Lord Marvel though, as the Citizen Deluxe was to the Marvel. They came out practically in the same years though and I don't know enough about them to know which came first. They are very similar designs, down to the script on the Hi-Line looking super close to the Lord Marvel.

Thanks for the heads up but I prefer the black dial version, only as I feel I would wear it more.

Does look very nice, out of budget for me. Think they could have integrated the date a little better, as most of the watch design seems to be based around rectangular shapes, the square date window stands out a little too much for me.
-
• #62775
the date window doesnt bother me.
Its also way over budget for me. Its just a pretty watch to drool over on the interwebz
