Those crystals were made of transparent processed cheese.

But I also remember checking the time and having to move them to the side to actually read the watch face. But. Fashion!

Yeah, the crystal on mine was scratched to shit pretty quickly, unsurprisingly. I think my parents got it replaced before I passed it on to my sister.
