Agreed, and people paving over green areas... Ok I know a gardener is expensive, perhaps there are weird social rules about lawns in places and a Tv ready lawn is a pita, but really...on the internet you can now find seeds, plants & everything for a low maintenance garden with green.
And the neighbour is going to put some in for the kids play area. I can't say anything, agh, I'll offer them a planter with wildlife friendly plant I guess...
I'm no fan of plastic grass but if you have a small garden, shaded, and you want your kids to be able to play there without it being a complete mud fest it seems like a good option.
