• Is there a tubeless sealant type thing for car tyres? Car has been sat for 3months without moving and normally the tyres get quite low but this time the rear tyre was totally flat. Maybe the sidewalls are giving up easier now? Anyway, wondering if I could fill it with something that might help reduce air loss to keep the tyres up longer.

Another option was take car to wheel shop and have wheels machined smooth or something. But I'm looking for a quicker home solution first.

  • Pump them up once a month?

  • Yes, slime.

    This stuff. https://slime.com/

Once inflated you need to take the car for a drive for a few miles to set the stuff. Slime washes out so no issues when changing tyres.

  • I've not been paying attention, are we talking Volvo wheels? I had a 760 estate that would always let me down. My BIL runs a family tyre business and said Volvo alloys corode inside the tyre allowing leaks. He removed two troublesome tyres and brushed what looked like bitumin on the wheel surface. The tyres never troubled me again. He said it happened a lot but the fix didn't always work. I don't suppose it's an expensive remedy and I assume all tyre shops do it.
