horizontal dropouts were a pain whilst using traditional gears and mudguards.

uh oh do share any tips before I start building mine for my mum.

I bought the Surly Monkey Nuts V2, to make it easier to align the wheel. And then conceded that I'd have to loosen the rear mudguard to fix punctures. Knock on wood the Conti GP urbans has hold up admirably since I set it up.
