I would guess:
10mm hex Allen socket
Or
10mm hex Allen extender -

8mm no? It's a hex/Allen embiggener (rather than a socket) to fit on the end of a 6mm hex key to enable you to tighten up crank bolts on the road.

Yup, can only find tranditional sockets and not hex > hex. I'll take embiggener as the technical term :D

Thanks, getting close, actually need 8 > 10mm
edit: gave me an idea, find a tool that has one and can hopefully find this spare part.

Any proper mechanics have any hints or tips for this. I have a blanking grommet to seal the hole below, but there’s no obvious way of popping it in. All pro tips welcomed.

proper mechanics
Definitely not me, overly keen tinkerer here, but I'd try a tiny dab of grease and the tip of your smallest flat head screwdriver or something to work it in around the edges?

Is that hole threaded?

Plus make it nice and warm so it’s as mailable as possible. Go grab your best hairdryer.

No.

Cut a slice at the 6 o clock position on the lip that will go into the frame. It will give the lip space to move but still be solid enough to hold position.

Push really really really hard and wiggle a bit

Toothpick or similar to push the lip of the blanking plug into the inside of the tube.

Can anyone help with this rear derailleur problem...
AFAIK the silver pin should be behind the grey pivot point, to give the cages tension. But it seems to have slipped to the wrong side so there is no tension on the cages.
It can't be pushed back into place. Any help appreciated

Sometimes those pins are removable but I don't think they on that mech, I think I've forced one round before years ago but I'd probably look at trying to dismantle the cage, at least partially first now.

I think the main internal spring which attaches the body of the mech to the cage had come out. This vid shows how to access it and re-fit.

Any problem running a GRX rear mech without the clutch on? On road so not slapping about?
Shifting is just much better without it on now for some reason.
(I have clutch grease but cant really be hooped servicing it)

Nah, it's fine.

Thank you. I had somehow managed to angle up around the bolt. Sorted and indexed this morning, managed to get in a last of the good weather ride.

shifting is pretty much the same with or without clutch on my 2x, and no slapping about without.

Yeah cheers guys. All the clutches I've had tend to cause more trouble than they are worth. I'm not sure my XTR clutch is any use now, even after opening it up and greasing it etc.
All good, road use anyway!
