Mrs Oat was organising said rope work! The entrance to the courtyard isn't blocked off. It's through the blue doors about 5m up from the church door. Really lovely tranquil little place open everyday.

The Roman paving is not actually from this church, but the former St Matthew on Friday Street round the corner. In my haste to post I didn't choose the intended crop and so made it a little easier than I wanted.

The stone inscription on the left is from a zigurrat in what is now Iraq, dated to about 900BC. Through some strange connection to Agatha Christie it ended up here.

Cool! There was someone with a radio and binoculars on a tripod keeping an eye on things but they didn't look like I would expect a Mrs Oat to look

They were inspecting the church tower for loose masonry etc. She was looking through those binoculars earlier though, Swarovski binoculars no less.
