• Room freshly painted, but the Tannoy Eaton Legacy are set up (awaiting another set of isolation feet) with the Gato DIA-400S (awaiting a hifi rack). This isn't their final placement, but it will do for now.

Even in this mostly empty room, with the windows open, they sound absolutely stunning and sublime.

Been running them almost constantly for a few days now. Things that really stand out is how effortless they are. Everything present and correct, nothing sounding muddy, every instrument in every track is clean and clear. The bass is naturally full (thanks to the 10" drivers), and the mids and treble crisp and never feeling second to the rest.

I'm still doing that thing of jumping around my music collection hearing everything for the first time. The difference between my MP3 files and FLACs is now obvious. Things that were barely listenable (Charlatans - Between 10th and 11th) are now extremely enjoyable.

The speakers are incredible. The amp likewise.

I'm excited by the thought of 2k books and some soft furnishings coming into this space, and the other isolation feet, etc. Not sure I'll ever stop being excited by music on this system.

  • totally awesome.

i guess the Tannoys will be a bit further apart in their final positions?

it's great when average recordings actually sound better, not worse.
