^ Looks highly functional! :-)
I've never thought about mixing two Pelagos. It looks great I reckon! -

Nice one! Mind me asking what the rear mudguard is? Quite fancy having one of that type in stock for last minute rain.

It’s just an SKS mudguard. It’s great. I swap it between bikes all the time.

Cheers, looks solid

looking to sell my white xl if anyone is interested, needs to be picked up from n1 -
dont really want to split it - looks like it does with the purple pedals, built it for the bf but they soon got something that fit them better (as you can tell)
the other pic is how i had it built last summer, so with a little bar swap you can have something which looks like a perfect summer city bike
sizes of riders are 5'11 and 5'6 - frame itself is 57 despite being xl
i bought a pomp last week for 175 - i had this listed before for 400 with paul levers and nitto bars with little interest - it has a wi free wheel and some novatechs to kinlins originally built by arkane last summer (have been ridden in the woods since then) has some old xt levers with the rubber missing now, some alvio brakes, runs smooth. has some nice nissen cable outers atm, and all the purple matches so that's nice, am sure most people in this thread would buy it and send it straight to the powsercoater. has some great stickers on, again can be removed (why would you).
the starnut could do with being evened out, i fit it with a screwdriver and a hammer, it's functional/ i've not died, but a little lopsided on the top cap
i'd say £300 but if you were a cool girl/dude who wanted it for summer, or to get someone in your life riding i'd knock some off in exchange for a picture of you/them enjoying it in the wild.
a bike which is more than the sum of its parts imo, which has been confirmed by numerous friends over the last year.
am not posting ever, not splitting *yet*

When people use disc trucker / LHT forks are they using the 26" ones or the 700c ones?
Cheers. -
• #8541
I use the old lht rimbrake 700c fork. Same axel to crown and offset as the stock pompino fork so it's a great match. Rides a lot better then the original fork, gives proper space for fenders and has mounts for racks.

After riding through NYC winters I finally decided to put fenders on in time for spring. Not sure why I fought it for so long.
¯_(ツ)_/¯

Is anyone running mudguards and mini-vs on a v3 pomp? Trying to figure out the max tyre size I could get away with in that combo. Would 32s be too optimistic? I’m thinking TRP CX 8.4s for the brakes. Thanks!
-
• #8545
The TRP CX 8.4 is bad for clearing the fender with a big tyre. If you use brakes that pull enough cable brakes with longer arms are better. The brake shoes from the TRP that takes normal road pads are however the bees knees.

Hey thanks. I should’ve said, I want to switch to drop bars with some SRAM s500 levers and I don’t think they’ll pull enough cable for regular v brakes.
-
• #8547
Well, I use TRP CX 8.4 with SKS guards and there is some contact between the guard the brake. I still works and perhaps you can fit it better. I use a 35 mm tyre.

I'm having a bit of a chainline issue with my V3 Pompino. The wheels are original spec Planet x AL30s with On One hubs. Thing is, the chainline is about 45mm at the front and 40mm on the back leading to some chain noise.
I'm selling the bike as it doesn't really get much use but don't want people to be put off; I swapped in the rear wheel from my other SS and it is super quiet (Halo hub with the correct chainline).
Any suggestions or shall I just add on the advert about this issue?
Cheers

You could just add a spacer under the cog as long as there's still enough threads to properly engage the cog. Even if it's not the full 5mm, it will make it better. Slacken the chain a little bit.
Probably not. I fit a 40c in a v3 but that was with the rear end stretch out to 130mm
