The fusion of brown, orange and faux wood is truly a sight to behold, and could only represent 70's America more if it had Burt Reynolds with his shirt undone to his navel and half a dozen cheerleaders in it.
It's an '85 model. I know. But the faux wood panelling looks like it was inspired the the same era Jeep Waggoneers and Chevy Suburbans.

Ok I need help.
Can I do a poll?
Jag S type 2.7 twin turbo diesel, what should I do with it:
Strip bits and sell the bits then cut up the shell;
Fix and transport back to the UK to MOT and then sell.
That fix option means replacing the collection of cambelts, service the autobox. The autobox has no issues now but missed services don't bode well for the life of the box. New fluid has been known to kill a box with unchanged fluid.
No idea what the car may fail the MOT on. Should go through the car checking any issues. Can't decide what to do, which is financially that makes the most sense.

Must be satisfying every time you go to garage and remember the graft on clearing the roof.

The convertible is class. I’ve never seen one before.

They are, based on what I have seen (although that may not be exhaustive) quite expensive.

Ooooo, a Decapotable. Very nice. Very leaky though I believe.

Just imagine how interesting our cars would be today if we followed the design and engineering trajectory of the DS

Apparently the decap is not an original but welded together in Poland a few years ago. Up close it’s a bit ropey. The blue one next to it is gorgeous in the flesh . Had a lot of work done today on the car and touch wood it’s running really smooth.
M25 was a nightmare but now chilling in Sussex 👍🏼 -

Here’s one I saw rolling around Parsons Green in 2014

is it a trick of the angles, or does that car have a long wheelbase?
-

and looks slightly like it bent in the middle when they got in.

The original chapron convertible cars were built on the safari (estate) DS chassis I think so longer wheelbase than a standard DS but less room in the back. Sussex this morning:

The story of how the chapron convertibles came about is interesting and they could come in 2 or 4 seater. There are quite a few copies, and chaprons are being remade under licence. Have seen one at a car show.
The cars are highly modified not sure that any panels from the screen back are citroen.

I do recall it being extraordinarily long at the time

Next question...
Gen 2 996 or Gen 1 997?
-

Same engine in both (largely) so same issues - a case of when they score rather than if.
Of course, not a problem if re-sleeving it as part of a rebuild is part of your plan.

Cheers fella.
996.2 C4s’ are similar in price to 997.1 C2’s.
I guess it’s all about history at this point

C4S is turbo running gear, turbo brakes, awd. Also, heavy. They’re very sought after- and I do like the look of them, even with the surrender headlights.

Is there a tubeless sealant type thing for car tyres? Car has been sat for 3months without moving and normally the tyres get quite low but this time the rear tyre was totally flat. Maybe the sidewalls are giving up easier now? Anyway, wondering if I could fill it with something that might help reduce air loss to keep the tyres up longer.
Another option was take car to wheel shop and have wheels machined smooth or something. But I'm looking for a quicker home solution first.

Pump them up once a month?
Yes that's right that was the Mall. I thought he had the windows down to work on the tan but maybe he's just trying to try and keep that 5 litre V8 cool, or its pre air con and its roasting in there :)
