it was the pre-cursor to the GRX, designed for the spring classics IIRC
From what I've read I think the only major difference between the RX and GRX is the GRX has a stronger electric motor in the Di2 version I have to handle the tougher conditionsI've also got a deore mtb rear mech so I could set up my CX bike for some hilly off road rides which I imagine is similar to the GRX

Thats a different mech though isn't it? The uletgra RX was the sweetspot for shimano CX mechanical 1x
GRX is a totally different design
