Does he? They look very professional. Is there thousands of them? How are you so sure?
-
• #62353
They go on sale in scores of shops all over the world the day after tomorrow. So how can there not be thousands of them? Do you think they won't make them until after lunch tomorrow?
-
• #62354
Of course not. All I'm saying is how do we know for sure that he's actually got one in hand?
-
• #62355
Question - everyone says they're available from the 26th, but then also going there on which is 25th. So... which one is it?
-

We can't be 100% certain. But his photos are of a real product, and they're obviously not professional ones. Look at them properly. And the watches are in the trade channel, in quantity, so one guy getting hold of one is not improbable. It's as believable as any ebay listing

It's at £5000 now. What
-
• #62358
Someone is taking the piss. People like to wreck scalpers' auctions. He'll have to cancel. He might even be bidding it up himself, for the lolz.
-
• #62359
Actually I'm not sure about the photos. I was convinced his hand was in a couple of them. But I haven't slept yet. Just ignore me. Which most of you do all the time anyway.

whenever I splash out on a luxury
This says you do it anyway. You should be ashamed of yourself.

I am. I'm no saint.

• #62362
I think I am alone in not getting the hype on these moonswatches. It's just a twee collab isn't it?
-
• #62363
Better done than most, which are usually little more than a label swap. These have some beautiful detailing, e.g. the rings on the Saturn one.

• #62364
Cue eBay flips for 5x the purchase price.
-
• #62365
To be honest any factory tour sounds dull.
-
• #62366
Pretty much, and they’ve really stoked the hype machine for this one.
They’ve done a pretty nice job on them though, for what they are.

really, really like the 37mm Spirit.
Me too! The 40mm lug to lug is a bit off putting as I love the titanium one.

I tried a couple of spirits yesterday both on leather straps as well as a couple of others as i had 15 minutes to kill whilst i had some links taken out of my new watch. I really liked the 40mm. It looked way nicer on than in the cabinet and the 42 was only a little bulky looking on my 17cm wrist. I tried on the super ocean heritage again as i think it's my favourite watching to look at and was going to be my next ambition but it really is way too big for me. I always thought Longines were a bit meh but they are making some lovely looking watches at the moment. The flagship heritage 38 felt and looked great on and its seems very good value.

They would be kind of cool if you could walk into a shop and buy one for $260, as a kitschy thing you could throw on every now and again.
-
• #62370
I agree that part of the appeal is the price - stick it on to go riding without the worry of doing so with a "real" Moonwatch.
So paying overs on one does rather torpedo the deal, as it were.

Need to get in on the Quartz hype today...

Kinda tempted to see if I can go and pick up a Swatch
-
• #62373
I had every intention of going to Bluewater tomorrow and chancing it (Both Swatch and Omega over there, last I went) but as they are only stocking them in 3 locations within a few miles of one another, I won't bother

To Edinburgh!

Still really want one of that era of Tags.
Had to ditch the cheap black scratchy nato on this for a better green one.

It’s nice to get a different view, for sure. It’s important to be aware of things that happen in the world, no doubt. It’s just that your question comes across kind of like - do you think about over 2 billion hungry people every time you eat?
It’s not that dudes fault he lives in the first world. Maybe he was born into terrible poverty and done really well for himself and he’s clearly smart with his money? Maybe he’ll sell all the other PPs and donate money to charity when he gets the one he wants? I don’t know, and frankly - I don’t care.
There’s probably a handful of people in the world who could change everything fairly quickly, from poverty to pollution. But that would mean them making a lot less money, so it’s not going to happen. We’re basically fu*ked anyway, so might as well enjoy the ride?
Sort of unrelated, but if you like to see from different perspectives - check out Soft White Underbelly YT channel. Some people are really dealt a sh*t hand (to put it mildly) from the get-go.
