Are English children prone to melting in the rain or allergic to fresh air?
I don't understand the obsession with canopies and enveloping kids in plastic like that. -

NEVER call me English

I'll amend my statement.
Are children living within the confines of the British Islands prone to melting in the rain or allergic to fresh air?

I'm going to (boldly) go with the Storm box, Clubhouse+, Sidekick wide decks and hope that the kid lid plus a rain coat is enough. Proper torrential days will probably still be in the car. Also fancy the transporter rack out the front. Will see on sat if min_com needs a Yepp maxi or similar.
That is all of course if I go with the Tern.

go for the tern! take your partner for the test ride too. Burn your C Max on Beddlestead lane.

Although I wanna point out that it’s not just the uk, rain covers are usually seen as a must and I know the UA one is very popular everywhere. Think it makes the whole thing a lot more cosy and sheltered, kinda makes sense as well seeing as your passengers won’t be pedalling to keep warm!

fresh air
In London?

my point exactly.. how many will actually do the nursery run in the pouring rain?
I get it for actual babies, but if they can wear a raincoat then I can't see the need for a heavy metal and plastic tent on your cargo bike. -
• #9037
i did yeah!

They neither drive nor cycle.

• #9040
i do not, its easy but its not something you want to do on daily basis, takes about 5 mins

Get a Benno, it's a superior bike in build quality and performance.
As @amey mentioned accessories can be sparse right now, but having worked in a cargo-focused shop for the last few years I can say the difference isn't that much more compared to accessory delays we're seeing with other companies - including Tern - and the Benno accessories hold up FAR better than most.

For every kid in a UA with a rain cover there's 100 on a Yepp without though...

The accessories are putting the Term out in front for me. The storm box plus clubhouse give me the "box I can dump shit into" check mark ahead of the Benno.

Benno is made for SoCal

Storm box is kinda cool but just get I’d loop bars and a big dry bag then you can remove it from the bike super easy:
Clubhouse, rancid, just rancid.
Benno having 24” wheels is a huge plus too

I'm not sure you know what the clubhouse is. I think you're thinking of the storm shield, which I am not going to get, not immediately anyway.

Haha, spoilt UA brats!
I’m just sympathising with Amey’s (and others) rain protection choice. I’m in the UA fb group and seems everyone’s got the rain cover, guess it’s part of their marketing.
I used to carry my GF and son around on the UA a lot, and we got by ok with layers and a blanket to protect their legs in bad weather
