Yeah, RIP Church's - never really was a fan if I'm honest...
-
• #8457
not a fan either. more room for the likes of Crockett & Jones and Trickers which is where the quality is sitting just above the likes of Barker and Loake etc.

Aggressive price hike! I've got some Church's Shannons which I bought back in 2014 for Trickers money (at the time) and rarely wear these days. They're just shy of £900 now - toplols.
Such a bizarre collab.

What ever happened to Cheaney? they're Church's/Prada owned... their prices seem to be competing with C&J... I'm a C&J fanboy, and JM Weston...

Prada run a fairly odd (aggressive) pricing model - they seem to price things up dynamically as they become more popular. I’ve seen things move in price by 20% within a season.

Hard to believe that a pair of derby’s from Church’s now sets you back almost £900.

Can't remember if I have asked before, but Solovair, any good?
Looking for some black boots, possibly for work*.
8 eye Derby boots in Greasy black are appealing.*work involves desk duties, rather than being on my feel all day, but might involve a 2 mile walk each way.

Never owned a pair of those, but from all reports they’re definitely better made than standard Docs, and probably better than the made in England versions too.

Which model are they? I do like a pair of well used Grenson.

Spotted some 8s on here in classifieds yesterday (probably wrong size). Will look for link...

Oooof....

Another pair of unlined snuff suede loafers - I’ve worn the last ones so much and despite the poor fx rate they were a little cheaper. These will be saved for ‘best’
My wife has to steer me out of the shop as I was eyeing up a pair of cordovan loafers!

Might be of interest to someone, I used Timpsons to resole my work DM brogues which had punctured after years of abuse, they did a fantastic job, cost £73. I’ll post a pic when I get a chance.

Good question; from Northampton late mid nineties

Absolutely the same. Clarks Desert Shoes/Boots are lethal on smooth wet pavement surfaces. Almost like an aquaplaning effect
Not my new ones I'm not that generous but these have made an older pair redundant
