I believe folding knives that lock into the open position are no longer legal to carry around. Worth checking out https://www.gov.uk/buying-carrying-knives#:~:text=Lock%20knives%20are%20not%20classed,in%20public%20without%20good%20reason.
I'm looking for a new folding knife and wondered if any of you ladies and chaps had any suggestions for possible options.
Use: Main use is for climbing emergencies. Cutting rope etc. Will spend a lot of time attached to a climbing harness in very wet conditions.
Requirements: Sharp. Weather proof (no wooden handle). Locking. No serrated blade.
I currently have one of these Gerbers. It has been a very suitable design over the years but the steel is really bad at holding an edge and is coming to end of life (have sharpened a lot of metal away). It was only £25 new I think.
I like these Victorinox but they are very spendy for what they are.
Any suggestions for other brands and models I could consider?
