I don't think there are any actual restaurants on Francis Rd.
Last time I looked, there were a couple of coffee shops and delis but nothing that would really qualify as a restaurant, unless I missed something.

As @ChasnotRobert says no restaurants - Deeneys is up the road (not sure they do dinner). Are they part of the same question or two separate things?

Ah ok, thanks. Had, obviously, assumed that some of the places were restaurants and the only time I’ve walked through there was a Sunday morning.
Anywhere on Chatsworth Rd?

Hi, my cousin wants to take my aunt out for a Mother's day evening meal after the theatre.
British cuisine, somewhere central, fancyish but not megabucks. They wanted the Oxo tower brasserie but it's not got a table at a suitable time.
Any ideas?

Good shout but it's apparently "temporarily closed"

Bentleys , if they’re happy with fish, or Corrigans.

Fallow?
Or lots of options here. Most of which seem decent https://www.telegraph.co.uk/food-and-drink/features/best-pre-post-theatre-restaurants-london-west-end-spring-2022/

I've always had nice meals at the Butler's Wharf Chop House which is close to the Oxo tower. Not mega bucks but well prepared and presented food.

Ended up going to Dim Sum and Duck in Kings Cross. Read your guys rave reviews to my partner on the overground and we spontaneously got off at Euston and walked over for a early lunch at 12. At 11:50 on a Monday there was already a queue of 15 people! But totally deserved, partner is from mainland China and thought it was amazing, especially as they are not stingy with the prawns and meat filling! Really recommended for the food but definitely too squeezy for a long nice meal. Price really ok too, £40 for various dishes (we were both stuffed!) and non alcoholic drinks.

Thanks, will keep them in mind for next time!

Quality Chop House?

My partner and I really like Yardarm, very hard to find opening hours/menus etc but we have had some really good small plates style meals there with nice beer/wine.
Good tasty food and portions vs price ratio was reasonable.
We had things like a fishcake in a tartare cream, really good chicken wings, padron peppers etc.Edit, just found a post on FB from Feb, looks like they closed the wine bar for a bit, it's open again but not as much of a food offering.

Nailed it! Best dim sum in London and worth the queue. Good work

Mora on the Highroad is great! Singburi is delicious as well (maybe not anniversary though)

Devoted readers might remember I was looking for Birmingham reccos, with it being a group of 8 and spending too long deliberating and not choosing/booking, most places were booked or couldn't accommodate 8. So I've ended up booking a desi pub in the Jewellery Quarter. Should be refreshingly low key after Opheem the night before.
Wife loves curry even more than me so can't see it being an issue.

After months of trying I finally got my partner a reservation at Sushi Tetsu. She said it was a beautiful experience. The food was divine and the tiny setting reminded her of the restaurants she loves in Japan. £250 for two (Inc drinks) which is not cheap but seemingly well worth it.
What are the restaurants like on Francis Road in Leyton? What would be good for an anniversary meal?
