Boring technical question: the cranks on your partner's pompino, are they andel track cranks? And if so, what's the clearance like on the chainstay?
-
• #2128
I believe so, at least the on one branded ones
I’ve never had heels strike but it’s not spacious, I couldn’t tell you the bb legnth but it’s the same one it shipped with

no more faffing with this
Quoting for later reference
i'm a fucking liar, looking at an m18 and wald
-
• #2131
I support this.
I got a new BLB mini rack very similar to the m18 if that's of interest. -

Exactly what I was gonna write : unfortunately M18 have gotten stupid expensive, I bought one 3 years ago, sold it, and it has doubled in price since then :/
Bought a BLB front rack for half the price of an M18. It does the job just fine, though the finish is obv a bit worse than that of a Nitto. BLB specced some ridiculously short struts though, but they can be replaced by Tubus ones.

the blb rack is v good and clearly the right choice, it is however not in stock in black.
i had an m18 on the raleigh and sold it, maybe stupidly, to @Neddos who now enjoys it - so it does double sting to not be only paying more for a desired colour, but another one
i remember liking it but being concerned at it being flexy, but between the p clips, my poor mechanic skills and my better grasp on load ratings, im sure this one will be better with it properly mounted
good time to post a picture of the old bike

I think M18 and other rando racks are inherently flexy. Mine was mounted on fork eyelets and it flexed all the same. If you intend to carry heavy-ish things, maybe take a look at Pelago's rasket? (cracking work on the raleigh btw)

I saw that green Orbit on the day, the colour is so nice, the matching ourys! a cool biek!

• #2136
Why on earth did you sell this.
-
• #2137
Would a Rawland Demiporteur work? Black, v3 steel version, assorted struts, including some longass one ones if you have eyelets at the forkends...

@merle will be pleased to hear this
@Tijs it was too low at the front! Being who I am now it would fit with a riser and a short stem. But alas, one has to go through this process to learn about themselves. It’s gleefully enjoyed by a woman in Bristol now.
@atk it absolutely would, these look mint! Sold out tho?

Glad that rack worked out!
The Bosco/Losco/Tosco bars on the stuntjumper look sweet. Might hunt around for a set of those...

Carried the first load on it today when the wald showed up
Loving how it looks! And doesn’t really add much weight at all when unloaded. The 15kg load limit and wide platform will ensure many crates are carried too and from parks this summer
Thanks again

Jackets cc day out to thundercross, got some great chips mid way through
Had a bit of a run in with a lady outside the coffee shop in dulwich which was a bit weird, just slowly coasting down to the bike lane a bit caffeinated and they were giving a heckle. Redemption coffee and the herne hill bike lane if you know it. Now I’m not one to cycle on the paths but a little mix modal now and then, care for the vulnerable path user, bikes are not cars etc, I just wanted to say sorry if they felt a bit close or got jumpy, was in a happy post coffee mood. They got a bit nimby at me quick so I was seeing my good intentions were not going to land. At this point I got a little coffee buzz and said, maybe a little too politely“alas, we cannot be held captive by our own trauma” and well, she didn’t like this at all, called me a patronising twat and flipped me the reverse Churchill. I wouldn’t say she was wrong for doing so, I can be, but alas I learned my lesson.
You’ll be happy to hear @Netakure there were zero dropped chains in with this GRAET BRI’ISH non narrow wide chain ring
