Anyone selling an Apple Watch? I have managed to break my third one today - not happy!
-
• #19104
What are you doing with them?
-
• #19105
They just said : )

Two dropped on tiled changing room floors. One banged on shed lock. I’m absolutely fuming!

Three in a day is a bit unlucky
-
• #19108
Ha. Albeit not three in a day, I’m still fuming!
-

..thought about getting a bumper? 💁
..also - did just the screens crack (and is it possible to replace them as with iPhones), or is the whole thing fucked after dropping it on the floor once?
-
• #19110
I have a bumper but it bulks the watch out too much for my liking. Apple need to make a G-Shock version! The screens have all broken. I spoke to Apple previously and they can replace a cracked screen but when it breaks there is glass dust which they can’t remove so they are not keen to replace the glass.

Hitting the shed lock is a shitter, dropping on the changing room floors though is one I’m calling user error. They are mean’t not to be removed other than when you are putting them on the bedside table for a charge.

I take the watch off while I’m showering. Might review that going forward.

• #19115
Oooof, that's rough.
Yeah a G-SHOCK version would be pretty rad, although that would be as bulky as having a bumper on, or even more though, I guess 🙂

I ocean canoe in mine, shower ain’t going to do anything other than clean the salt and shit off.

I’m just used to removing it to shower. It’s probably an age thing.

Think you should invest in one of these…

I have a very similar case but, as the pic shows, it’s very bulky.

I use one of these when I'm on building sites.
Spigen do a case which looks a bit g shock too. I've used those in the past.
-
• #19121
I have one of those protectors and the Spigen case but due to the bulkiness, I’m not keen to use them. I do understand that the damage may not have happened if I had used the case/protectors etc but I like the slim, low profile of the watch.

Just buy one of these

Durable in comparison with??? Or just more durable? 😁

Most durable ever!
Jokes aside, I have a 7 which I already smashed against stuff quite a few times already and it doesn't have a single scratch. Albeit I don't know if I'm just lucky or if the glass is really this tough. I also don't know how older Apple Watches would have managed -

I don’t know that the 7 is any tougher than the 5.
My 2 scratched up quite a bit but I had a 5 from launch then got the 7 at launch and both have held up with no damage. No bumpers and lots of short sleeved use. As said upthread I’ve done a lot of outdoor water sports in them, as a precaution I generally wear the 5 for rugged use as I’d be pissed if i smashed up the 7 when i have a perfectly good 5 knocking about, albeit with a short battery life that would struggle to make it to the after party if i wore it for a workout in the morning and didn’t top up the charge all day.
A targus 180 liberated itself from my old work when I left. Used it with windows at work and now with a MacBook. It's been fine bar having to reboot it once a week or less. You need to install displaylink manager on a Mac.
