The bike is a custom build around their 2015/16 black rim brake frame.
The frame itself has not had a lot of use as the components were transferred from a previous Surly of mine. The drivetrain and wheels have (at a rough guess) around 1.5k miles or so on them.
In it's current configuration it's setup more so for commuting / city use, but could easily be transformed back into a more typical long distance touring bike / gravel rig by swapping the flat for drop bars - the downtube shifters will make that switch pretty easy.
Handbuilt super strong touring wheelset (by Spa Cycles): 36-hole Rigida Sputnik rims with an SP PV-8 dynamo front hub allowing you to run lights and/or other dynamo accessories.
Overall the spec was designed to be robust and trouble free for touring, with a few retro leaning bits and bobs. Here's the full part list:
Surly Long Haul Trucker 56cm black rim brake frame
Tektro CR710 cantilever brakes
Shimano Tiagra R550 Flat Bar Brake Levers
Cane Creek 'Forty' headset
Brand X Stem
On-One Mary Handlebars
Shimano Deore M490 9 Speed Chainset
Shimano XT M772 Shadow 9 Speed Rear Mech
SRAM PC991 9 Speed Chain
Shimano 9spd HG400 Cassette 36-Hole Rigida Sputnik Rims
Shimano LX rear hub
SP PV-8 Dynamo front hub
Velo Orange Cork Blend Grips
Dia Compe ENE Gran Compe Downtube Friction Shifters
Panaracer Pasela PT Amber Sidewall 26" x 1.75" tyres
EXTRAS:
A pair C-Lite black full coverage alloy fenders, front has Brooks mudflap attached (may require some addtional bolts to secure).
CONDITION:
Very good condition overall, a few marks as to be expected from touring around, but no significant scratches etc. I would anticipate some maintenance / new parts on the drivetrain at some point in the not so distant future. It rides well currently and generally the selection of parts are super easy to adjust and maintain.
Selling to help fund a new gravel bike build. Located in Hackney E8 4RA (Broadway Market / London Fields). Looking for around £750. Postage would be an additional £50. Any questions fire away.
